In the heart of the historical centre of Alghero, charming city cradle of Sardinian
tourism, within a splendid cloister of the 14 the century, which is part of
the church of San Francesco, we find the tourist congressional centre, with
the hotel San Francesco and the artistic cultural centre “Il chiostro”
The church of San Francesco was built in the second half of the 14 th century
and thanks to the recent works of restoration, it is possible to see the harmony
between Gothic Catalan and late Renaissance architecture.
The roman cloister, built in sand stone is particurarly interesting with its
22 columns on multisided bases and has circular and polygonal sections
